Writing & Performance.

My work often explores love, loss, grief, and nature through the mediums of poetry, prose, music, and performance. I’ve shared my poetry and music at Light in Winter Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, Emerging Writers Festival, Sydney Fringe Festival, Slamalamadingdong, Women of the World Melbourne Festival, and MidSumma Festival. My work has been published by Melbourne City of Literature, PEN Melbourne, Offset Journal, Maggie Journal, and Kara Sevda Press.

In 2020 I was selected as a Featured Author by Djed Press and had the pleasure of co-authoring a book chapter through cohealth Arts Generator for RMIT University’s CAST (Contemporary Art and Social Transformation) research group.

“Gabriela is one of the most electrifying performers I've had the pleasure of working with. She connects with and draws out deep emotions with honesty and humility, but also with wit and flair. Her poetry and songs are richly layered and moving in the way only truth really is.”
